HONEY, SMOKE, & GOLD
The oldest discovered statue found in France some fifteen to twenty thousand years ago is of a bear. Over the millenniums bears have been revered as powerful gods, celestial beings, demons, and night time protectors. Honey, Smoke, and Gold focuses on our interpretation of bears in the 20th century. Installations focus on topics of environment, iconography, origin, and re-interpretation.
